Honey market is strong

I bottled both liquid and chunk comb honey over the last week and have found that there is strong demand for local honey again this year. I pulled off a few more supers last weekend and plan to extract again. Most of my beekeeping friends have not started extracting so I’m on the leading edge of this year’s crop. The weather has been good with lots of sun and rain keeping wild flowers blooming. The next big bloom, now starting, is thistle. Looks like a bumper crop of other wild flowers are also blooming. Nectar flow into the hives continues to be strong.

I think I had a few swarms even after adding lots of space. They are tricky little insects with a mind of their own. Just like most beekeepers.
