The best of days – a beekeeping friend came over and we made nucs from my hives. I had purchase 6 queens for this process. My normal method for overnight nucs could not work as I could not commit to the 2nd day. I did it the normal way, pulled frames of brood, pollen and honey from the 10 fame hives, add the queen and put them into 5 frame nucs. As long as I didn’t also transfer the queen I’m good. I also moved them to a different yard. The hives are strong now so swarm control is the next issue. There were not any swarm cells but mostly capped brood so I’m thinking swarm cells will pop up in a week or so.
